Mission International’s teams are recruited and trained in the UK and then deployed in countries within the developing world, serving with indigenous churches, ministries and organisations that hold similar values to those of our own. Teams are strategically designed to bring hope, help and support to the people they serve and so are flexible in their purpose and function in order that the best fit with the situation that they encounter.

Types of Team:

It is Mission International’s desire to link people from churches, schools and community organisations in the UK who wish to serve abroad with those who require skills, support and encouragement within the developing world. In order to achieve this we have arranged various types of team in order to be as flexible and accommodating as possible.
  • Mission Teams: Mission teams are designed to work with indigenous churches, providing support and encouragement to them as they endeavour to implement their own vision. Mission teams typically are deployed for 2-3 weeks but this can be adjusted for any team’s particular requirements.
  • School Teams: The modern school curriculum includes elements on citizenship which can easily be identified as pupils involve themselves with a community and culture often quite alien to their own.
  • Project teams: Project teams are deployed to become involved in a particular Mission International project. The duration of project teams is very much related to the project to which they are attached and can be from a few weeks to three months.
  • ‘U-Design’ teams: If your church, school or community group wishes to recruit, design and implement your own team to be involved in a project or mission then Mission International has the experience to support you as you train and deploy such teams.
  • Medical Electives: Medical students can be hosted by medical centres and dispensaries in poor communities where their skills can be of great value as well as being provided with the opportunity to learn a great deal about tropical medicine and practices.
